SILLY TALK-LIST POSTINGS

These are actual posts to various Talk-Lists.(comments in brackets are mine)

I am at work so I do not have my "notes", however I will get this data for you, and update the list.
(these posters are never heard from again)

Have Junior give you the spec on the sightings or anyone else who knows about it.
(Obviously the source is not important)

I am looking for any information any one might have on a bridge. I believe it was a part of the bridge but I can't confirm it. By the way, the bridge is no longer in railroad service.
(No, it's being used as a storage place for information)

As a comparison, the Titanic sunk on a plateau adjacent to SP/UP's Soledad Canyon line, with mountains all around it. Filmed at night, you'd never know, though for us commuters it was a pretty awsome sight. Each day of the week it's tilt would get a bit higher as it "went down". May refer to Amtrak.
(It just may)

would seem to me that if the handicapped find the handicapped bedroom too expensive--which I can understand--can't they stay in a standard bedroom? What is to stop them from staying in any room for which they can get a reservation? Probably can't get to the toilet!
(You can't beat logical thinking!)

Did this actually happen????? If this did not happen, anyone know what this referred to?
(Inquiring minds want to know)

Is it usually close to time or is it usually late, if so-how late. A friend is picking me up and I'd like to tell him about when to be there. Thanks in advance!
(This may refer to Amtrak also!)

I am afraid my post may have been misunderstood.(happens all the time) Please correct if I am wrong on this.
(If the poster was wrong then his post would have been understood? or am I wrong?)

It appeared that most equipment has been moved outside. Looks like a great weekend.
(Unless it rains)

Dow Jones Industrial Average closed today, will open again tomorrow.
(Wow!)

Don't make this thing harder than it is. We are talking about the movie industry. It has always cut its teeth on creating the real from the unreal.
(I'm afraid this post may have been misunderstood as well, Hollywood creates the unreal from the real, doesn't it?)

Has anyone else heard of this as well.
(evidently not)

I don't know for sure how this would be determined in the case of the Union Pacific.
(Someone's got to take the blame)

What do I first see..... a rail line going into a building. Then i >see a yellow Jigger.
(I didn't understand this one at all)

I think some of the early attempts at remote control on a few railroads employed that approach. Offhand I can't recall which railroads tried it. That method was found to be a good way to tear up trains.

Computer records are only good to a certain point. Your questions and responses are well put, but the situation is much more complicated than to simply allow a computer to handle the entire issue. Human intervention and reason is superior.
(This could be an answer to the previous post but was on a different list)

I have already, at a previous time, listed some of the other possibilities, but most may not be realistic.
(We are all guilty of this at times)

I am thinking of taking the train to Las Vegas, I know it doesn't go there.
(Now here is an optomist)

This is off topic, but please consider the request before sending flames. Thanks.

Depends on how exacting you want to be. Doesn't sound like much, but it is noticable. However, it can be ignored.
